I've been making an effort to spend more time in prayer. I have a timer on my phone that goes off, and I have been excusing myself for a few minutes to say a quick prayer. Thanks for this, help me with that.. nothing weird.
The first few days went well, even though a lot of difficult things happened this week, but today I dropped the ball. And today sucked. A lot. Correlation, or causation? And if causation, which caused which?
Do you pray? Often?
Awesome idea! I do pray quite often during the day - I find that it helps me put the little things that go wrong into perspective and when a bigger problem arises ( which in my job is 4-5 times a day) then I am able to deal.
ReplyDeleteIt's been 8 years since I started and it's made huge difference in my life... I think it must be a cumulative process because I didn't't notice a change until about a month into it.
Keep at it...the zen will happen.
Uh... *awkward pause*
ReplyDeleteI respect other people's faiths and beliefs. If prayer works for you, great.
I don't pray. I don't believe there is a god. I believe humans create god to make themselves feel more important. I believe we're tiny, insignificant specks in a vast universe of rocks.
I used to be a pray only when I am drowning type of person. Then 4 years ago I completely stopped praying because I was so angry with my Creator because of things that were happening in our life. We had a tremendously sick child. I have since changed my attitude and have seen all the blessings and the answered prayers of others that prayed for our family when I could not. I pray for patience, peace, and guidance. Sometimes none of that comes, but if nothing else, I am stopping for a moment and sometimes that is what I need most, to stop and recharge.
